CONICET is the largest research agency in Argentina, which employs more than 10.000 staff researchers and 11.000 fellows. CONICET research activities include all natural and social sciences. CNEA/CONICET host the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN) which has geographic poles in Buenos Aires and Bariloche. INN brings together over 200 researchers including 40 leading investigators based across multiple disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Engineering. The Institute of Physics Rosario (IFIR) is a unit of CONICET and the Rosario's National University (UNR) conducts research and developments in physics. The Institute was created in 1980 and is currently organized into four divisions: Materials Science and Technology, Condensed Matter, Theoretical Physics and Applied Physics.
